Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Thursday said that digitalisation has brought unprecedented changes in newspaper, radio and television journalism in the country.

Subsequently, the media houses can also share the contents on social media, youtube and facebook due to digital advancements, he said, while attending a seminar virtually organised by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Daffodil International University in the city.

“Journalism was not in the same during the Covid-19 pandemic and it will not return to its old form in post-covid era.”, the minister said.

Analog papers will lose existence in the digitalised civilisation, Jabbar said, adding that “We have to learn about using digital machines for living; people don’t have to be a specialist in digital technology for knowing to use digital machines.”

Advisor of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Daily Ajker Patrika editor Prof Dr Golam Rahman, Dhaka University Prof Mofizur Rahman, Cumilla University acting chairman Kazi M Anisul Islam were also present there, among others.
