Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 33 people on charges of selling and abusing drugs during an on-going anti-narcotics drive in the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC-media) Walid Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.
During the drive, police recovered 715 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 133 grams of heroin, 1 kg 160 grams of hemp, 5 bottles of Phensedyl and 105 bottle litres of wine from their possessions, said Walid Hossain.
A total of 26 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act in these regards.
