DMP arrests 63 in anti-narcotics drive in capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 63 people on charges of peddling and consuming drugs during the on-going anti-narcotics drives from the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am on Wednesday.

DMP Deputy Commissioner (DC-media) Walid Hossain confirmed the matter to The Business Post.

During the drives, police recovered 3,211 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 603 grams of heroin, 25 pouches containing 14 kg 82 grams of hemp, 96 bottles of Phensedyl from the possessions of the arrestees, said Walid Hossain.

A total of 45 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act in these regards.
