DMP finishes Ekushey February security preparations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has completed security preparations ahead of the Ekushey February and the International Mother Language Day, which will be observed on Feb 21.
 
The information was revealed at a coordination meeting on safety and traffic management ahead of the occasion held at the DMP Headquarters on Thursday.
 
Chaired by DMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, the meeting was also attended by Proctor of Dhaka University, senior officials of DMP, representatives of various intelligence agencies, Dhaka South City Corporation, fire service, Health Ministry and other government institutions.
 
The DMP commissioner said the situation is a little different this time due to the coronavirus pandemic and urged everyone to be more careful.
 
The meeting was informed that all types of vehicles will be restricted inside Dhaka University area from 6pm on February 20 to 6pm on February 21.
 
The movement of vehicles and public will be restricted with barricades at 12 points centering the Dhaka University.
 
The points are- Nilkhet crossing, Palashi crossing, Fuller Road Junction, Bakshi Bazar crossing, Chankharpool crossing, Shahidullah Hall crossing, Doel Chattar crossing, Gymnasium crossing, Romana crossing, High Court crossing, TSC Road Island and Shahbagh crossing.
