DMP issues traffic advisory for February 21

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday issued guidelines for vehicular movement at key points in the capital on the occasion of the historic Shaheed Dibas, and International Mother Language Day, on February 21.

Bakshibazar-Jagannath Hall crossing road, Chankharpul-Romana Chattar Crossing Road, TSC-Shivbari junction crossing and VC building-Sculpture Crossing will be closed from 6:00pm on Sunday to 2:00pm on Tuesday.

According to the DMP guideline, people have been asked to enter the Central Shaheed Minar only using the road in front of Palashi Crossing road and Jagannath Hall.

No other road should be used to enter the Central Shaheed Minar.

Visitors have been asked to exit the Shaheed Minar via Doel Chattar Road or Romana Chattar Road.

Entrance to the Dhaka University area will be closed from 6:00 pm Sunday to 2:00pm on Monday.

In this case, car diversions will be provided through Nilkhet, Palashi Mor, Fuller Road, Bakshibazar, Chankharpur, Shahidullah Hall, Doel Chattar, Gymnasium, Romana Chattar, High Court, TSC, and Shahbagh Intersection Roadblock.

All types of vehicles carrying passengers will be prohibited from entering the New Market Crossing from Sciencelab, Nilkhet Crossing from Kantaban Crossing and Chankharpool Crossing from Fulbaria Crossing from 5:00am on 21 February.

VIP cars will be parked at Dhaka University Gymnasium ground on Monday morning. Others will be able to park their cars on Nilkhet-Palashi, Palashi-Dhakeswari road.
