DMP nabs 75 in anti-narcotics drive in capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 75 people on charges of possessing, peddling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-narcotics drives from the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC-Media) of DMP, Walid Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.

During the drives, police recovered 7,936 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 325 grams of heroin, 17 kg 180 grams of hemp and 27 bottles of phensedyl from the possessions of the arrestees, said Walid Hossain.

A total of 47 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act in these regards.
