DMP nets 34 in anti-narcotics drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 34 people on charges of possessing, selling and consuming drugs during the on-going anti-narcotics drives from the capital in the last 24 hours till 6am on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC-media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Walid Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.

During the drives, police recovered 631 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 34 grams of heroin, 200 grams of hemp, 7 litres of wine and 2 bottles of Phensedyl from their possessions, said Walid Hossain.

A total of 24 cases were filed with different police stations under the Narcotics Control Act in these regards.
