The Dhaka Metropolitan Police is offering money escort services for carrying large sums of money ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Buying, selling, trade, commerce, money transactions and transfers increased ahead of Eid, prompting the police to offer the service anew.
Due to increased trading, there is an increased risk of theft, robbery while the activities of the dope gang and malam parties also have increased, the DMP said.
The roads in Dhaka are also relatively less crowded, DMP said, adding that anyone remained careless at this time, the miscreants could snatch the money.
The DMP urged the people to remain careful in carrying and withdrawing money.
Individuals or organisations seeking assistance are advised to contact the relevant police station or police control room. It should be noted that the person or organisation expecting a police escort has to provide the vehicle, the police said.
