DNCC anti-mosquito drive: 87 establishments fined on first day

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Saturday launched the third phase of its combing operation to protect the city dwellers from the menace of dengue fever and found Aedes mosquito larvae at 87 houses and establishments on the first day.

The mobile courts led by DNCC filed 20 cases and fined the establishments Tk 1,28,600.

The drive was conducted in Uttara, Mirpur, Mohakhali, Kawran Bazar, Harirampur, Dakshinkhan, Uttarkhan, Vatara and Satarkul areas.

On Saturday, the DNCC inspected 12,736 houses, establishments and under-construction buildings and found the presence of Aedes larvae at 87 of them.

During the last combing operation conducted from July 4th to July 14th, 1,30,097 houses and installations were inspected and 698 larvae of Aedes were found. A total of Tk 21,08,610 was fined by the mobile court.
