DNCC anti-mosquito drive concludes after covering 158 hospitals

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Thursday concluded its week long anti-mosquito drive after covering 158 hospitals aiming to minimise the health risks of dengue among the medical professionals and patients.

On the sixth and concluding day, DNCC covered 13 hospitals. Another phase of anti-mosquito drive will begin later.

The drive was operated at Mirpur-2, Mohakhali, and Kawran Bazar areas of the city said a press release.

The City Corporation launched the week-long drive on Saturday.

The hospital authorities were requested to keep the hospital premises, toilets and drainage system clean and maintain sufficient awareness in this regard.

Meanwhile, no new dengue cases were reported in the last 24 hours until 8am on Thursday.

Currently, one dengue patients is being treated in Dhaka, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Bangladesh had a massive dengue outbreak last year when 101,354 people were hospitalized. According to official figures, the mosquito-borne disease killed 179 people last year.
