A doa Mahfil and a memorial meeting were held on Thursday morning for Ruhul Amin Gazi, late president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).
Local journalists organised the doa mahfil and commemorative meeting at the Bandarban Press Club auditorium.
In the memorial meeting, the speakers said Ruhul Amin Gazi had struggled throughout his entire life to establish journalists' rights, reports BSS.
They also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
The President of Bandarban Press Club, Aminul Islam Bacchu, its former president, Prof Osman Gani, and journalists - Bashar Siddique, Minarul Haque, Nasirul Alam and HM Samrat, among others, were present.
Gazi, also chief reporter of Dainik Sangram, passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital on Tuesday night.
