Don’t dispose waste in open places, roads during day time: Taposh

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Monday urged the city dwellers not to dispose their daily wastages at open places or roads during the day time aiming to build a clean city.

The Mayor came up with the remarks while attending a meeting of waste management at Nagar Bhaban in the afternoon.

“We are rearranging the whole waste management system of the city. From now on all waste management will be operated from 6 pm in the evening to 6 am in the morning.” He said.

“Our key purpose is to gift a clean city to the Dhaka dwellers.” the Mayor said.

The waste collectors of DSCC will collect the domestic disposals between 6 pm to 10 pm and dump them at specific places, Taposh said.

“If any waste is accumulated during day-time, don’t dispose of them on roads and open places. We will begin a new process of waste management soon,” he added.

DSCC will appoint a total of 75 primary waste collection workers who will be registered contractually, the Mayor said.
