Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday requested Bangladeshis living abroad not to return home except for an emergency. He said that a good time is waiting for all the Bangladeshi expatriates.
The minister said that the government is providing food aid so that none of the migrants abroad live in a dire situation.
The minister said these in the capital while opening a call centre service ‘Probash Bondhu Call Centre’ through a video conferencing. The service will benefit Bangladeshis living in Saudi Arabia.
Momen said, these workers living abroad are Bangladesh’s asset and foreign offices have been instructed to extend all-out support to these workers.
He said through this call centre a new window of opportunity opens for expats living in KSA and now they can get in touch with health experts through this call centre.
Expatriate Bangladeshi physicians will provide necessary health advice through the ‘Probas Bandhu Call Centre’ during the COVID-19 crisis, said a press release of ICT Division.
Expats living in KSA will now be able to contact doctors from 9am to 9pm whenever they face a health related problem.
Expatriates' welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmed and State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak also attended the video conferencing.
