Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury and four others have been sued over death of a pregnant woman at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital.
Dr Nasrin, Dr Shawkat Ali Arman, Dr Delowar Hossain and nurse Shangkari Rani Sarkar of Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital, were the other accused in the case.
The case was filled in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury today by SA Alam Sabuj, husband of the victim Nasrin Akter.
The court directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the matter and submit a probe to it by January 21 next year.
According to the case statement, Nasrin Akter, died on Sep 24 at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital due to negligence of Dr Nasrin, Dr Delowar, and nurse Shangkari Rani Sarkar, while giving birth.
The statement also added that, despite the hospital, higher-ups admitted their mistakes and agreed to negotiate, the did not follow through.
