Police arrested the driver of the microbus that ran over and killed mountaineer Reshma Nahar Ratna. The microbus was also seized at the same time.
Driver Nayem along with the Hiace microbus was arrested from Ibrahimpur of Kafrul on Tuesday.
Officer in Charge of Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station Jaane Alam Munshi confirmed the news to The Business Post.
The investigative officer of the case and Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station's Sub-Inspector Mubarak Ali also spoke to the press. He said,” At first the driver was held for interrogation. Later he was shown arrest for the murder of Reshma.”
Mubarak said that they had formed several teams and had been collecting and watching closed-circuit television camera footage of different areas in the city and finally traced out the vehicle and seized from Ibrahimpur.
Mountaineer Reshma was killed after a microbus hit her bicycle on Lake Road near the Jatiya Sangsad in Dhaka on the morning of August 7.
