The Business Post started their 'Walton-DRU Media Cricket Tournament-2023' campaign with a convincing four-wicket victory over Bhorer Dak on Monday.
The match was held at the Outer Stadium in the capital's Paltan on Monday at 11am.
The Business Post’s Arifur Rahman Tuhin was named the player of the match for his all-round performance in the match.
A total of record 55 teams from diverse print, online, and electronic media platforms, split into eight groups, are playing in the tournament under the knockout system. The champions of each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
‘Walton-DRU Media Cricket-2023’ is organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) and sponsored by Walton Group has started from Monday.
Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated the tournament.
Rabiul Islam Milton, Senior Deputy Executive Director of Walton was present as the special guest at the inaugural function presided over by DRU President Mursalin Nomani. DRU General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel gave a welcome speech at the inaugural function while other DRU officials were present.
