Dry spell resumes after unseasonal nor'wester

Bangladesh likely has started Monday on a dry note as the sky may remain partly cloudy over the country in the next 24 hours.

However, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at one or two places over Sylhet division, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.

Overall, BMD said, "A trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas; seasonal low lies over South Bay."

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, it added.

On Saturday, a nor'wester coupled with rain and gusty wind swept different parts of Dhaka city.

"The nor'wester was blowing with a wind speed of 20 to 30 kilometres per hour," said a meteorologist of BMD.

However, no casualty was reported due to the seasonal storm.
