Law Minister Anisul Huq on Wednesday said the government will never repeal Digital Security Act (DSA) but it would be amended to be publicly acceptable by September this year.
He also said a provision will be included in the amendment so that journalists are protected.
"The DSA has been formed to reduce cybercrimes in the country. Though, the DSA has been misused and abused earlier. But we have reduced it recently," the minister was addressing at a panel discussion titled, "Shaping a Future of Rights" marking World Press Freedom Day at TIB Auditorium in Dhaka.
Speaking there, the Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Dr Iftekharuzzaman said the DSA amendment won't be accepted if it is not repealed.
