DSE PE ratio rises 1.94pc

The overall price-to-earning ratio (PE ratio) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) rose 1.94 percent in the outgoing week, according to sources.

It is learned that the PE of DSE was at 13.46 points at the beginning of last week but it lifted to 13.72 points at the end of the week. In other words, the PE ratio has increased by 0.26 points or 1.94 percent during the week.

At the end of the week, the PE ratio of the banking sector stood at 7.34 points. Besides, IT sector has stood at 18.00 points, textile at 16.37 points, pharmaceuticals and chemicals at 20.25 points, engineering at 16.23 points, insurance at 17.20 points, miscellaneous at 24.94 points, food at 14.55 points, Leather sector at 17.27 points, cement sector at 29.34 points and power and energy sector at 12.88 points.

Beside these, in the financial sector at 30.31 points, in the travel and leisure sector at 31.99 points, in the paper sector at 52.77 points, in the telecommunications sector at 13.24 points, in the service and housing sector at 14.95 points, in the ceramic sector at 26.09 points and in the jute sector PE at 41.56 points.
