DUTA condemns anti-state conspirator's ill-activity

The Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA) on Friday condemned and protested the anti-state conspirator's ill-activity in the name of publishing news in a national daily.

In a statement signed by DUTA President Prof Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan and General Secretary Prof Zeenat Huda, said, "We are noticing with deep concern that conspiratorial activities against the state have been carried out in the name of publishing news on the great Independence Day in a daily newspaper of the country."

DUTA strongly condemns such inactivity, the statement read.

They said, in the published report, instead of a caption under the picture of a child, the statement of a day labourer was published, in which the statement satirized the independence of the country.

Although the statement was published as a statement of a day labourer in the caption, no adult person was seen in the picture.

In the statement, it was also said that some vested quarters including some international media are promoting that the government is taking oppressive measures against the media for publishing the news of the price hike.

However, the reality is that action has been taken against those concerned for actually using a child as news material by providing incentives for dishonest purposes.

Calling upon everyone not to be confused by such news, DUTA demanded of the government to take proper and legal action against the newspaper concerned and all those involved in this regard.
