A pivotal workshop has convened at Chuti Resort, Purbachal, aimed at shaping the trajectory of Bangladesh's youth development efforts.

The gathering – on Saturday – marked a significant milestone following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Youth Development (DYD) and Plan International Bangladesh (PIB), dedicated to fostering the holistic advancement of Bangladeshi youth.

Under the distinguished leadership of Dr Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Director General (Grade-1) of DYD, and Kazi Moklesur Rahman, Joint Secretary (Planning-3 Section) of the Ministry of Youth & Sports, the workshop brought together key stakeholders to strategise and plan for the next five years.

Notable participants included MA Akher, director of Planning at DYD, president, and National Youth Council members (NYC).

Kabita Bose, Country Director of Plan International Bangladesh, served as the chair, and directors Jolly Nur Hoque and Afroz Mahal represented Plan International Bangladesh.

Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman underscored the imperative of enhancing the National Youth Council's capacity, expressing optimism that the action plan developed during the workshop would galvanise collaborative endeavours toward a shared future.

Kabita Bose reaffirmed Plan International Bangladesh's unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, vowing to uphold the stipulations outlined in the MoU.

Throughout the workshop, participants actively engaged in group activities, focusing on delineating actionable steps for NYC member capacity building, devising strategies to elevate the visibility of national and international youth days, and identifying youth-led actions.

 Detailed plans were meticulously crafted, outlining responsibilities, stakeholder roles, and risk mitigation strategies for the 1st year. The interactive and fruitful deliberations laid a robust foundation for effectively implementing the MoU's provisions.
