A moderate earthquake jolted Dhaka and Chattogram districts on Thursday afternoon.
The tremor measured at 5.9 magnitude on the Richter scale was felt at 5:47pm, said United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicentre of the earthquake was 38.5 kms away on the east, south-east of Myanmar's Phalam in Chin state and was reported to be 10 kms beneath the surface.
The epicentre was 361 kms east of Dhaka and 218 kms east of Chattogram.
However, no casualty was reported anywhere in the country.
