A 4.5 magnitude earthquake was felt in Dhaka and elsewhere in Bangladesh on Friday morning.
The epicentre of the light category quake, which struck at 10:46am, was Golapganj in Sylhet, Meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz Kabir of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) told The Business Post.
The distance of epicentre was 202km north-east of BMD Seismic Centre in Dhaka, he added.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was of 5.0 magnitude and it struck at a depth of 10km in the India-Bangladesh border region.
No damage has been reported at the time of filing this report.
