Classes in all the primary, secondary and higher secondary-level educational institutions will resume on May 23, depending on improvement of the Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh.
All educational institutions have been instructed to take initiatives as per government directions.
Secondary and Higher Education Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain disclosed the matter in a virtual dialogue session on Thursday.
Education secretary said, “Educational institutions will reopen if the Covid situation improves. The decision we made in a previous announcement is still in force. The institutions have been directed to take necessary steps to implement this.”
“We have started broadcasting classes on television, radio and online media to continue educational activities amid the pandemic. Students are being given assignments at home as well,” he added.
The national advisory committee on coronavirus earlier on 25 March announced to reopen educational institutions on May 23.
