Tufts University’s Computer Science and Engineering Department head and veteran educationist Professor Dr Muhammad Afser passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Massachusetts of USA.
Prof Afser breathed his last on Tuesday morning at Mass General Hospital. He was 76.
After namaz-e-janaza at 1pm (local time) on Tuesday at Roxbury Mosque in ISBCC Center in the US, he was buried at The Gardens Cemetery on 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
The PHP family and Islamic Cultural Center have expressed profound shock and sorrow at the demise of Prof Afser. They have also prayed for the salvation and eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
Prof Afser, son of late Dr Ahmed Subhan from Mirsarai, Chattogram, studied at Chittagong Collegiate School and Chittagong College. Later, he obtained a higher degree from the University of Dhaka.
