A building owner has suspended construction work on his site after a nightingale, medium-sized songbird, built its nest on a pillar of his building.
Monir Hossain, a lawyer by profession, had to suspend construction work partially at his site at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria so that the bird nest remained unharmed.
After spotting the nest in his site, Monir also found the bird laying eggs there and started waiting for the bird to incubate its eggs.
Construction workers at the building have ever since stopped going near the particular pillar so that the bird is left alone undisturbed.
Monir told reporters he first saw the nest a month ago at his site and later found a pair of eggs in it. He said it had melted his heart and he immediately stopped construction work on his building.
Although suspending work at his site would incur him financial losses, it was unavoidable since the bird was not only living there but also incubating eggs, he said.
