The month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair will be held as usual next year at the Bangla Academy premises like previous years.
The decision came after talks of a virtual book fair caused a stir.
However, the date of the fair will be changed.
Rejecting the possibility of holding a virtual book fair, ‘Bangladesh Gyan O Srijonshil Prokashok Samity’ (Bangladesh Knowledge and Creative Publishers Association) President Farid Ahmed confirmed the information after holding a meeting with Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Siraji on Sunday.
The fair will begin at any date in February according to government permission, he added.
The Fair was previously announced to take place practically in 2021 to avoid Covid-19 transmission as the country braces for a potential second wave of infection.
