Former Parliament member, politician and Ekushey Padak winner poet Kazi Rozi died after battling with Covid-19 and other complications on Sunday.  

The 73-year-old died on Saturday midnight at a private hospital in the capital.  

Her daughter Sumi Sikander confirmed the matter to the media.

Sumi also informed that the poet’s body has been taken to their residence in Shegunbagicha from the hospital.  She will be buried in the Mirpur graveyard as per the decision taken by her family members.

Earlier on January 30, the poet was admitted to the hospital. After her health condition deteriorated, she was taken to the ICU.
