Environmental clearance certificate payment to come under automation

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has decided to introduce ‘online payment in electronic cheque clearing’ in order to deliver services quickly.

The new electronic treasury invoicing system of payment titled 'Online Payment in ECC will work through automation software and will issue environmental clearances through the system.

Service seekers will be able to pay necessary fees through Sonali Bank or various types of payment cards and mobile banking.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in a meeting on Monday took a total of nine decisions to ease public services in the government office. The meeting was chaired by joint secretary Md Ashfaqul Islam Babool and secretary of the ministry Ziaul Hasan addressed the meeting as the chief guest.

The ministry also decided to build a digital database to distribute dividends to beneficiaries of social forestry projects implemented by the Forest Department. The beneficiaries will be informed about dividends through mobile apps as per the decisions taken on Monday.

Service receivers could get immediate remedy and protection measures under ‘mobile apps and insect-spider, pest and disease control of forest tree’ activity of Bangladesh Forest Research Institute by new initiative.

Losses incurred in rubber sector will be reduced through timely sale of rubber to meet the demand of the buyers through a new project titled 'Facilitation of Rubber Sales Process'. The project will be implemented by the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation, as per another decision taken on Monday.

Bangladesh Forest Industries Development could decrease its losses by selling rubber immediately after buy order from buyers through ‘simplification of rubber sales process’.
