Kamal Ziaul Islam, Chairman, Nirman International, and a former President of Bangladesh Cricket Board, passed away peacefully at his residence at 3:55 pm this afternoon. He was 86 years old.
Islam, better known as KZ Islam, pioneered Nirman School Cricket, a popular school cricket tournament in the 1980s and 1990s.
He was the BCB president from January 30, 1983, to February 18, 1987.
