Ex-director of Suhrawardy Hospital dies from Covid-19

Former Director of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital and a prominet medical expert Prof Dr AKM Mujibur Rahman died from novel coronavirus at the intensive care unit of Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka early today.

He breathed his last around at 5:30am, Nirupam Das, chief administrator of Bangladesh Doctors Foundation, confirmed to The Business Post.

After being tested positive for Covid-19, Dr Mujubur Rahman was being treated in the hospital for about three weeks, Das added. 

So far, 33 doctors died in the country from Covid-19 till date and another five passed away suffering from symptoms similar to those of coronavirus infection, said Dr Rahat Anwer Choudhury, joint secretary of the Foundation for Doctors' Safety, Rights and Responsibilities.
