Ex-FBCCI chiefs back Alam as aspirant president

Former presidents of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) have extended their support to Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Mahbubul Alam, in his bid for the new chief of the apex trade body for the 2023-25 tenure.

Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, former FBCCI president, announced the name of Alam at a programme titled “Developing Smart Leadership to Create Smart Economy” in Dhaka on Tuesday, read a press release.

Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, a former FBCCI president, attended the event as the chief guest and also supported the announcement.

Besides, FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin and its ex-chiefs AK Azad, Mahbubur Rahman, Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Mir Nasir Hossain, and Abdul Awal Mintoo extended their support to Alam.

Other business leaders, present at the event, also backed Mahbubul Alam as the next president of the FBCCI.
