Ex-LGRD minister Mosharraf tests positive for Covid-19

Former Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has been infected with the coronavirus.

Mosharraf himself confirmed the matter to the media on Friday (June 19).

Asking for prayers from all, the ex-minister said that he was receiving treatment at his home in Dhaka.

Hossain became expatriates' welfare minister in 2009 and was later made LGRD Minister in the last tenure of Awami League government.

Currently, he has been working as president of the Standing Committee on LGRD Ministry.

Mosharraf, an MP from the Faridpur-3 seat, is also a presidium member of the ruling Awami League, Mosharraf was in the cabinet for two consecutive terms since 2009.
