Examinations at all the public universities would be held online amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The University Grant Commission took the decision at a meeting with vice-chancellors of all of the public universities on Thursday, a deputy director of the commission told The Business Post.
The students have suffered a lot for the prolonged halt of academic activities caused by the ongoing pandemic. “Considering the situation, it has been decided to take the public university examination online,” he said.
The commission also made a guideline for conducting the examinations online and it would be sent to the education ministry, he said.
The ministry would publish a circular on this guideline and then it would be sent to all of the public universities.
The universities would make policies at their academic councils on how they would conduct the online examination.
Earlier on Wednesday, the deans committee of the University of Dhaka decided to take final examination of all of the semesters online from July 1, if the situation remains the same.
