Expat writer Sharley’s books unveiled

Two books by an expatriate writer and founder of a charity, God’s Grace Ministry, Sharley Biswas, were launched on Friday.

The launching ceremony was held at Bangladesh Adventist Union Mission church in the capital’s Mirpur, according to a press release.

Based in California, USA, Sharley wrote the books —Geetargha and Jeshute Ishwarer Prokash—praising Jesus Christ.

Organisers said that the books are not for sale but to be distributed among the people interested in reading. The books will be available at the non-government organisation Pidim Foundation office, in the capital’s Rupnagar of Mirpur.

Sharley Biswas in a virtual speech from the USA urged all to be humanitarian and kind to all people sensing their pains.

“Don’t dishearten anyone, stand by sick people to reduce their pain,” she said.

Musicians John Dilip Sarkar and Gilbert Sarkar also were honoured lifetime for their outstanding contribution to music.

The singers, lyrists and composers were awarded at the event with crest and cash at the event, particularly for their contribution to Christian Music.

God’s Grace Ministry based in California, USA, also works in Bangladesh among orphaned and homeless people.

Advin Barun Banerjee, founder and executive director of Pidim Foundation as chief guest of the event said that Sharley Biswas was pretty fond of music and literature from her early childhood and she continued practicing it even at the worst time of her life.

‘Among other branches of literature she (Sharley Biswas) was interested in poetry in her early life,’ he said.

Sargamarta editor Joyanta Adhikari waspresent as special guest of the event presided over by Pastor Timothy Roy, executive secretary to the Bangladesh Adventist Union Mission.
