A Dhaka court has asked the Investigating Officer (IO) to submit by October 15 the probe report against Regent Hospital Chairman Mohammad Shahed alias Shahed Karim in a case of counterfeit money which was recovered from his secret office in Uttara.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Millat Hossain passed the order on Monday as the IO in the case failed to submit the probe report by an earlier scheduled date.

Earlier on 16 July, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) filed a case with Uttara West police station against Shahed after recovering fake banknotes from his secret office in Uttara.

On July 15, the RAB arrested Shahed with illegal arms on the bank of Labangaboti Canal in Komarpur village under Satkhira's Debhata upazila, while he was making a break for India.

later in the day, RAB raided Shahed’s secret office at Uttara Sector 11 and claimed to have recovered around 146,000 taka of counterfeit money from there.
