The fast track lane facility on the Bangabandhu Expressway is now operational allowing travellers to cross the toll plaza quickly and at a 10 per cent discount through the Upay app.
According to the Roads and Highways Department, vehicles are being tolled automatically on one lane each at Dhaleshwari Bridge and Bhanga Toll plazas on this highway since Tuesday evening.
Information of all registered vehicles from BRTA is maintained in the Fast Track system. Sensors are placed in designated lanes for fast track. When a vehicle passes by, the sensor will identify the type of vehicle based on the vehicle's digital number plate.
Apart from this, if the RFID card is attached to the windshield of the vehicle, the toll is also detected and deducted. For this, there should be enough money through mobile banking system.
If there is not enough money in the mobile account, the toll plaza barrier will not be raised. Meghna and Meghna Gomti bridges in the country have separate lanes for toll collection in this manner. Now the Mawa-Bhanga Bangabandhu Expressway has opened.
