The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry has honoured nine organizations for their contribution during the war of liberation and post-independence of Bangladesh
The award was given on Tuesday, the 14th day of the FBCCI's 16-day "Bijoyer 50 Bochhor: Laal Sobujer Mohotshab " which started on December 1 at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater in Dhaka.
Chhayanaut Vice-President Khairul Anam (Shakil), Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi General Secretary Jamshed Alam Tapan and Founder Member Golam Mohammad Idu, Presidium Members of Khelaghar Kamal Chowdhury and Shomi Kaiser, Bangladesh Group Theater Federation Secretary General Kamal Bayazid, member of Bangladesh Graam Theater Nasir Uddin Yusuf, Kachi-Kanchar Mela Vice President Alpana Chowdhury and General Secretary Abdul Mueed Chowdhury Walid, Shadhin Bangla Football Team Manager Tanvir Mazhar Tanna, Liberation War Museum Trustee and Member Secretary Sara Zaker and Projonmo '71 President Asif Munir Tanmoy, Vice President Shomi Kaiser and General Secretary Kazi Saifuddin Abbas received the awards on behalf of their organizations.
The leaders of the organization expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the FBCCI. They said that they will continue their activities in the future to keep the spirit of liberation war alive.
Speaking as the chief guest, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Tazul Islam said Bangabandhu has struggled all his life dreaming of improving the people’s life. When he realized that there was no alternative to independence for the betterment of the fortunes of the Bengali nation, he declared independence.
“Bangladesh is slowly moving forward. This trend of development will continue,” he added.
Speaking as the special guest, Former Cultural Affiars Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP said, "On this day in 1971, we lost the best citizens of the country. But the killer do not know that the person can be killed, not his ideology. He asked everyone to be committed to take Bangladesh forward.
