A female police inspector has accused Moktar Hossain, Police superintendent of the Police Bureau of Investigation of rape.
The victim filed a petition with a Dhaka court to bring rape charges against the accused under Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 on Thursday.
The judge recorded the victim's statement and pass an order after reviewing the documents.
The victim's lawyer Salah Uddin Khan confirmed the matter.
According to the statement, the incident took place on December 20, 2019, when both were stationed in Sudan under United Nations peacekeeping mission.
