Financial institutions to be closed for 5 days for Eid-ul-Azha

An Eid vacation of four days has been announced for the country’s financial institutions, starting from June 27 to June 30.

And including a weekend and bank holiday on July 1, the financial institutions will be closed for five days during Eid-ul-Azha.

The Department of Financial Institutions and Markets of the central bank issued a circular in this regard and sent it to the chief executives of all financial institutions operating in the country on Thursday.

According to the circular, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, all financial institutions operating in Bangladesh will be closed on June 27, 28, 29 and 30. However, the next day Saturday is a weekend, so the financial institutions will also be closed on that day also.

Yesterday, Bangladesh Bank stated that the Eid-ul-Azha vacation will be from June 27 to June 30 as per the government decision and it has also ordered to keep banks open on a limited basis, from 10am to 2pm, on June 27 and 28.

The bank branches responsible for transactions of the ready-made garment industry will be open for the payment of wages and allowances to the workers and for the purchase of export bills. Banking services will be available in Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram on the above-mentioned days.
