A fire that broke out in an under-construction building in Dhaka's Banani on Thursday afternoon has been doused after 40 minutes.
The fire started in the building located on Road 4 of Block-F in the Chairman Bari area around 2:40 pm on Thursday, said Rozina Parvin, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence. On information, three fire-fighting units rushed to the spot.
Only one fire-fighting engine, however, managed to douse the flame at around 3:20 pm, she added.
The fire originated on the ground floor of the under-construction multi-storey building due to an electric short circuit. No casualty was reported in the incident, the officer added.
