A fire that broke out at BDBL Bhaban in the capital’s Karwan Bazar was brought under control on Sunday morning.
Four units of firefighters managed to douse the fire after one hour of frantic efforts.
Fire Service control room official Mahfuz Riben confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
He couldn't confirm the extent of damage or casualties immediately.
The fire broke out and spread on the 18th floor of the building, he said.
Witnesses said they spotted the fire on the hanging wires in front of the building around 7am which later spread to an air-conditioner.
However, an employee of an office housed in the building said the fire burnt down a few ACs.
