A fire that broke out on the top floor of a high-rise building in Dhaka’s Topkhana Road earlier Sunday morning is now under control.
Rashid Bin-Khalid, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire originated from the top floor of the 13-storey ‘Merherban Plaza’ on Topkhana Road around 7:33am.
Responding to call, he said four firefighting units from several stations rushed to the spot and tamed the blaze around 8:15am.
The fire's origin and damages caused by it could not be known immediately, the duty officer added.
Yesterday morning, a fire broke out on the ground floor of a six-storey building in Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area, though firefighters tamed the blaze later.
