A massive fire broke out at a fertilizer factory in Palash upazila under Narsingdi on Friday.
The fire started at 12pm at the Urea Fertilizer Factory Limited in Ghorashal area of the upazila.
Confirming the news, Narsingdi Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Nurul Islam said, "During the piling of an under-construction building on Friday afternoon, the gas pipe at the bottom got punctured. As a result, the fire broke out."
Upon receiving the news, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at 4:45pm.
"Titas Gas workers are working to disconnect the gas line. The fire will be extinguished as soon as the gas line is disconnected," he said.
