A fire that broke out at a polythene factory in Old Dhaka’s Bangshal area on Saturday night was brought under control after nearly one hour of frantic efforts.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

The fire erupted at the factory housed on the ground floor of a four-storey building at Mahuttuli around 11:30pm, Dewan Azad, duty officer at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence, told The Business Post.

Ten firefighting units rushed to the spot and tamed the blaze around 12:20am on Sunday, he added.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
