A massive fire broke out at Kumargaon 150MW Power Station in Akhalia area of Sylhet Sadar Upazila on Tuesday.
On information, Fire Service teams rushed to the spot and started efforts to douse the blaze.
Confirming the matter, Power Development Board (PDB) Chief Engineer Mokammel Hossain said the fire started around 11:05am.
Transformers are reported to have burned down in the fire at the 33kV power plant.
How the fire originated is still unclear, according to the Fire Service team.
