Six bodies have been recovered from the plastic factory which was engulfed by fire on Monday noon.
Earlier, the fire broke out in the plastic factory located in the Chawkbazar area of the old town around 12:00pm.
Ten firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 2:20pm, said Director (Operation and Maintenance) of Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate (FSCDD) Lt Col Zillur Rahman.
The fire probably started from a gas cylinder explosion, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Lalbagh Division) Jafir Hossain.
The dead bodies are being taken to the Sir Salimullah Medical College.
