A fire that broke out at a launch in Dhaka’s Sadarghat launch terminal on Sunday morning has been doused after four hours.
“The fire erupted at Adventure-9 that was anchored at pontoon-5,” said the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Receiving the information about the fire at 10:52am, seven firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze at 2:52pm, it said.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
Meanwhile, the Fire Service and Civil Defence formed a four-member probe body to investigate the incident. The committee was asked to submit a report within 10 working days.
On December 24 last year, 50 people were killed as a deadly fire ripped through a Barguna-bound launch that was carrying some 800 passengers from Dhaka.
