A fire burned down more than 20 shanties at Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila, Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday night.

The fire broke out at the Block B of Camp 9 around 7:45pm.

Two firefighting units from Ukhiya brought the blaze under control, said Cox’s Bazar-8 Armed Police Battalion Commander SP Shihab Kaiser Khan.

No casualties were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.

Earlier, at least 11 people died and hundreds of makeshift dwellings were burned to ashes as a deadly fire ripped through Balukhali Rohingya camp on March 22 this year.
