A huge cache of firearms and ammunition were recovered from Naniarchar area of Bandukvanga union in Rangamati in the early hours of Friday.

According to a press note of an intelligence agency, acting on a tip off, a team of joint forces conducted a special raid at a UPDF den at Naniarchar area of Bandukvanga union in Rangamati on Friday night.

During the drive, the joint forces recovered an AK-47 gun, an automatic pistol, a local LG, three magazines, a Walkie Talkie, three sets of UPDF uniforms, a land phone, two mobile phones, three registers books, two diaries, four NID cards and 20 round bullets.

Joint forces also recovered TK 2,49,118 cash, some foreign currencies and documents from the spot, the release added.

Later, they handed over the recovered items to Naniarchar Police Station.

Such operations will continue against the terrorist activities of these groups, said the release.
